West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has offered her congratulations to a Malvern charity which has scooped nearly £50,000 after winning a people’s vote. The charity What Makes You Different Makes You Beautiful run by Kim Philpotts was awarded £49,470 of lottery funding as part of an ITV scheme. The charity, which supports children with special needs and their families, won the grant after getting local people to vote for the charity The special needs support network will use the funds to work children and their families through one-to-one sessions and build on early intervention through play, sensory activities and social interaction. Harriett commented: “I know of Kim and her work and was delighted that the charity has won this much deserved award. “The funds will help the charity to set up an outreach service and build on the strong work already being carried out to help families across the county.”
