West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has agreed to meet with a local housing developer to try and find swift solutions to the serious traffic delays at a busy Pershore road junction. And the MP has agreed to explore all the options as she attempts to mediate a solution which will lead to better traffic flow for local commuters in the short and long term. Harriett met with Worcestershire County Council, last month, to discuss the delays delivering a permanent junction at Station Road. The MP has now agreed to meet with Persimmon Homes to try and find a swift solution which will ease delays at the temporary traffic lights. Harriett commented: "Feelings are running very high over this issue, and I am happy to work with all the parties to try and find the best possible short and long-term solutions, as swiftly as possible. "I am one of the local commuters who gets held up by these temporary lights and I am well aware of delays that can occur when they fail or sit on red for a very long time. "Local drivers have put up with this temporary measure for too long and it is time to explore all the options to bring the right solution into play. I have agreed to meet with Persimmon Homes to hear what it has to say about the delays delivering a permanent solution. "The company clearly has legal commitments but we must also consider the fact that there is now a plan in place to deliver the Pershore Link Road - which will have an impact on this junction. "We need to put everyone's heads together and make sure that the best and safest solution is in place to help Pershore's traffic flows to improve as quickly as possible."
