A Malvern GP surgery is in the running for a national award as part of celebrations to mark the 70th anniversary of the NHS.
Whiteacres Medical Centre has been nominated for recognition as part of a competition to reward innovation and high-quality care across the NHS.
West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin nominated the Malvern GP surgery in the NHS70 Parliamentary Awards which will be announced in London on July 4, the day before the NHS's 70th birthday.
The surgery has highlighted its work across Malvern helping some of the more vulnerable local people including those with mental health issues and those needing dementia care.
Harriett said: "The NHS is a highly-valued institution and we continue to celebrate everyone who works across the whole of the health service as it approaches its 70th anniversary.
"With record numbers of patients being treated and record funding for the NHS, it is important to highlight its outstanding local results.
"As people live longer, local health experts are facing up to new challenges in delivering care and I was impressed by the Whiteacres Medical Centre's submission and the work it is doing to specifically help some of our more vulnerable local residents.
"I look forward to joining in the celebrations leading up to the 70th anniversary in July and will continue to mark the wonderful efforts of those people who work tirelessly to care for us and our loved ones."
