West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin is encouraging local businesses to put their name forward for the countryside ‘Oscars’ which celebrate rural life. The Countryside Alliance awards recognise rural businesses and champions local produce and last year two local businesses – Suckley Village Shop and the Talbot at Knightwick – were finalists. The hunt is on for nominees and the awards close on December 9. More detail on getting nominated can be found by visiting the http://www.countryside-alliance.org/campaigns/caawards/. Harriett commented: “There are lots of really impressive local businesses across West Worcestershire worthy of an award and I was pleased to see two entrants reach the finals last year. “This is a great way to mark a successful local business and fly the flag for our vibrant rural economy. The Countryside Oscars is a great annual initiative to recognise and reward the best businesses, the best produce and the best people.”
