West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has expressed her dismay at the latest delays to vital a project to improve traffic flows along the A417.
Highways England has confirmed that the project to alleviate traffic congestion at the Air Balloon roundabout near to Cheltenham will have to go through a further round of public consultation.
Harriett has lobbied for the scheme, which is used my many West Worcestershire commuters driving to and from London, Swindon, Cirencester and the South East.
Harriett commented: “I am a big fan of the Air Balloon roundabout improvement scheme which will significantly speed up journey times as well as cutting down on air pollution owing to the regular queuing traffic.
“I’m dismayed by the latest delays but hope that Highways England will swiftly conclude the latest consultation and get the scheme underway.
“I plan to keep a close eye on this scheme, together with my colleagues representing Gloucestershire constituencies, and hope to hear news of positive progress very soon.”
