West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has welcomed investigations to improve safety at a notorious county road junction.
The MP has written to Worcestershire County Council after constituents shared concerns about the dangerous junction at the Guarlford Road junction with the busy B4424.
Drivers travelling from Malvern towards Upton-upon-Severn and the M5 have to turn across a busy road on a blind crest meaning visibility is very difficult for oncoming drivers.
The county council has agreed to investigate using electronic warning signs to warn oncoming drivers and reduce the risk of serious collisions.
Harriett commented:
“Anyone who uses this junction knows how risky it is to turn onto the main road from Malvern and I have always felt that more can be done to reduce the risk of accidents.
“I’ve had concerns raised with me by constituents as well as some helpful suggestions about what the county council could do to act.
“I have passed these thoughts on and I am pleased to hear that the highways team will be looking into this matter.
“Now that traffic levels are back to normal, I feel this is a junction that should be improved and made safer, and I look forward to studying the conclusions of the study.”
