Over the course of the last year, the Government has moved decisively to help people with their increased energy bills and many people will have received automatic payments through their electricity provider or the authority to whom they pay council tax.
The Government has introduced an Alternative Fuels Payment of £200 to support households who heat their homes with alternative fuels, such as heating oil and liquified petroleum gas (LPG). Most Alternative Fuels Payment eligible households in Great Britain will have received their payment automatically in February via their electricity supplier with no need to take any action. There will be a small number of customers, particularly those living off-grid who are unable to receive the funding automatically and will have to apply through the Government website at https://www.gov.uk/apply-alternative-fuel-bill-support-if-not-automatic.
There is also a helpline on 0808 175 3287 but if you have any difficulties claiming this support please get in touch and I will assist where I can.
