West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has offered her support for a rural community looking to review speed limits through their village.
Harriett met with the parish council representatives from Suckley to talk about extending a speed limit area through the village.
The parish council secured the support to villagers through a petition, which they shared with Harriett when she visited along with Worcestershire County Councillor Karen Hanks.
Harriett has written to the county council asking highways officers to meet with parish council and re-consider speed limit areas.
Harriett said:
“Speeding in rural areas is one of the bigger issues in my postbag and I am clear that the villagers in Suckley are frustrated with the way their concerns have not been properly addressed.
“I have taken the time to hear their concerns and listen to the views of the county councillor who is responsible for advocating the views of the villagers.
“I am hopeful that the highways team will take the time to meet with Suckley Parish Council and re-visit this matter in the New Year.”
