West Worcestershire MP Dame Harriett Baldwin has welcomed commitments to crack down on speeding drivers and anti-social driving in Malvern.
Malvern’s local police team will be carrying out spot checks in Pickersleigh Avenue following reports of high-speed, dangerous driving in the location.
The police action was confirmed in a letter to the Malvern MP following her intervention on behalf of local people.
Dame Harriett said:
“I get regular complaints from local people about areas where there are speeding drivers and I immediately share these concerns with the Safer Roads Partnership which is responsible for monitoring driver behaviour.
“In this instance, the worrying reports of dangerous driving have led to local police stepping in quickly to act and I expect to see higher police presence and spot checks in the area.
“Speeding drivers cause local people concerns and with the children still off at school, I am grateful that the police have agreed to keep a close eye on the issue during the summer break.”
