Harriett Baldwin this week praised the efforts of a local trainee plumber who has been flushed with success in a national skills competition.
The MP met Sam Love, who works for Property Care, the maintenance arm of Festival Housing in Malvern, on a tour of Worcester College of Technology’s Malvern campus. Property Care now also does work for members of the public.
Sam trained at the college and has been competing in skills competitions both locally and across the country where he was a runner up in a national event.
Harriett praised Sam’s efforts and also the college. The Malvern campus teaches qualifications in decorating, bricklaying and carpentry.
She said: “I was impressed by Sam’s achievements and I am delighted that local people will be able to benefit from his undoubted plumbing skills.
“I was similarly impressed by the Malvern campus which really is an unsung local hero.
“A successful economy depends on producing skilled construction workers and from everything I saw on my tour, it is clear that the college is excelling.
“Our county’s next generation of plumbers, joiners, decorators and bricklayers are being well served by this facility and I congratulate all the staff for their efforts.”
