West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin today praised a local company for its commitment to workplace training.
The MP was speaking at the presentation of NVQs to staff from Malvern’s ESP – a specialist paper manufacturer based at Enigma Business Park.
Harriett handed out the NVQ certificates with Worcester College of Technology principal Stuart Laverick and ESP managing director Steve Briggs.
Harriett commented: “Having met the team at ESP a few times, I know they are committed to helping their work force to grow and thrive at their Malvern base.
“The work put in has been truly excellent and the company should be proud of its efforts to help train and develop its staff.
“The Government has allocated a great deal of funding to allow our UK workforce to compete on a global stage and I am pleased a local company has been able to take advantage of this initiative.
“The money is available to all employers and it allows companies to train and develop their workforce at no cost to the employer.
“I encourage companies to follow ESP’s lead and look at training the workforce to improve competitiveness.”
Steve Briggs added: “We are justifiably proud of our team at ESP and will continue to reward their commitment to us by investing in them.
“We also thank Worcester College of Technology for being our partner in delivering this wide range of training opportunities”.
