West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin today toured a county primary school and praised its huge contribution to the local community. The MP visited Clifton-upon-Teme Primary School and met with staff and school governors (Friday June 21). And Harriett was taken on a tour of the school by three pupils from the school council, Imogen Benton, aged 11, Grace Warmington, 10, and Alec Francis, 11. She also participated in an MP question time where she faced questions from pupils covering subjects ranging from her work in NATO to her day-to-day work in Parliament. Harriett also met with two representatives from the school governors and out-going head teacher Debbie Mitchell who retires at the end of the school year. Harriett commented: "Clifton-upon-Teme Primary School is a real jewel in our educational crown and I was delighted to make my first visit to what is my local primary school. "I would like to thank Debbie and her staff as well as the governors for the great job which they do. It is clearly a great school and does a wonderful job giving our local children a start on the road to academic achievement. "Schools like these depend on pupils coming through the door to make sure that they can survive and thrive, so it was great to have a conversation about how the school can feed into the community's long-term plan for growth. "I hope that one day soon, the school will make a return visit and come and see me in the Houses of Parliament."
