West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin celebrated the gathering of the next generation of inventors at a major science event held in Malvern last week (Saturday November 9).
More than 100 families attended the Festival of Innovation family day held at Malvern Theatre to encourage more young people to take an interest in science.
The event was formally opened by the MP and featured a talk by BBC TV science presenter Dr Jonathan Hare. Visitors were able to talk to scientists and take part in experiments.
Harriett commented: "Malvern has been at the heart of research and development for many decades and inventions like radar and the LCD were developed in Malvern.
"The Festival is a great way of celebrating Malvern's brilliant brains and I am delighted that this family day has been added to the programme to inspire the next generations of inventors.
"The jobs for these young people are being created today in Malvern by QinetiQ, Malvern Instruments, Morgan Motors and the growing high tech businesses on the Malvern Hills Science Park.
"Businesses are all on the look-out for good scientists, engineers and mathematicians so events such as this are very valuable for young people who are thinking about what to study."
