An Upton restaurant will get the chance to cook at the House of Commons after it reached the final of a prestigious Parliamentary competition. Flava Fusion restaurant was nominated by local MP Harriett Baldwin after she visited the venue to sample a special ‘tasting menu’ put together by Muj Rahman and his team. Harriett named the restaurant as her entry in the prestigious Tiffin Cup, which is a nationwide competition to find the best South Asian cuisine. Flava is the only restaurant from the West Midlands selected on the shortlist of 13 chosen from all over the country to come to Westminster to cook a meal for celebrity judges, TV cooks and MPs. Harriett commented: “The Flava Fusion restaurant has an award-winning chef from the Rajshahi restaurant in Tewkesbury and it’s a family-run business which opened in Upton-upon-Severn last November. “I tasted the food during a visit to Upton and thought that it was outstanding. I really hope that they impress the judges too and go on to win this major competition.” Keith Vaz MP, chair of the Tiffin Club, added: “We are delighted that Flava Bangladeshi Indian Fusion has beaten extremely stiff competition in order to become one of the finalists of the Tiffin Cup.
