West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has welcomed the completion of an overhaul of Malvern Link train station.
The brand new station buildings were formally opened by the MP in March and the bridge was given a fresh coat of paint to finish the
£500,000 facelift.
The train station improvements are part of a multi-million pound investment into Malvern Link, part of the Strategic Economic Plan for Worcestershire.
In recent years, Malvern Link has benefitted from a £17 million new community hospital, two new retirement homes, a new fire station, an improved Post Office and Worcestershire County Council has improved badly damaged pavements to help local shoppers.
Harriett commented: “The new-look train station is very impressive, but when I formally opened facility, the bridge looked a little sad and unloved.
“The coat of paint makes a big difference and the station now looks fantastic.
“Our long-term economic plan is helping job growth and 7,900 more people in West Worcestershire are now working compared to 2010. The new station will help attract both inward investors, tourists and commuters.”
