West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has offered her thanks to Pershore shoppers who are donating food to a local food bank.
Collections being held in the High Street Tesco store will go towards helping people who experience sudden unexpected cash shortfalls.
Harriett met with local store manager Jag Dhaliwal and representatives from Pershore’s recently opened food bank.
Harriett commented: “Tesco is leading this initiative with food banks across the UK to help get useful supplies like UHT milk and canned goods to people who are facing a sudden cash crisis.
“I can help people who have had delays with benefits payments and the Citizens Advice Bureau can help with debt problems.
“I would like to thank all the people of Pershore have donated tonnes of groceries and all the people who volunteer their time at the new Pershore food bank to support neighbours going through a tough time.”
