West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin took up a trowel to help complete a million pound affordable housing development in Pershore. The eight new two-bedroom homes will be completed in June and the MP was on hand to help lay a few bricks at the former SW Antiques site at Newlands in Pershore town centre. The development is being carried out by Malvern-based Speller Metcalfe for Rooftop Housing Association. The housing association has five new developments underway in Pershore and the accommodation is being let through Wychavon Distsrict Council. Harriett commented: “Pershore is a wonderful place to live and it is great to see a brownfield site being converted into new affordable homes. "The houses are all being built to a high spec and feature measures to make them as energy efficient as possible. “Rooftop Housing is doing a fine job helping get people into affordable housing and I look forward to seeing this latest development getting finished very soon.” Photo: Nicola Inchbald, Chair, Rooftop Housing Group and Ian Hughes, Group CEO, with Harriett Baldwin MP
