Harriett Baldwin joined local residents celebrating the arrival of superfast broadband to Clows Top, near Tenbury.
Harriett spoke up on behalf of local residents to help to press through an urgent upgrade to BT cabinets across the Tenbury area. The cabinet serving Clows Top has now been connected and Harriett encouraged local people to sign up for superfast internet services.
Harriett said: “I was out meeting voters in Clows Top and they were pleased to tell me that their cabinet has now been upgraded so they can now sign up for superfast internet services.
“If superfast broadband can reach rural areas like Clows Top this is great news for some of the other difficult to reach areas in West Worcestershire and proof that it has been worthwhile to keep the pressure up on BT and the county council.
“Superfast broadband should be available for all and if I am re-elected in May, helping other rural communities to get fibre connections will continue to be a priority of mine.
“I have been a strong voice ensuring that taxpayers’ money is spent in the right way and also championing innovative rural broadband solutions like Martley Mesh and Airband which are both helping communities to get fast broadband.
“The work is not done and there are many more villages in West Worcestershire which are calling out for a 21st Century internet service.”
