West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin last week lent a hand to an event to encourage more Tenbury people to volunteer.
The MP formally opened the event, held at the Regal Theatre's Community Centre in Tenbury on Friday (June 5), and met with more than a dozen volunteer groups who took space to promote their organisations.
The event was organised by Malvern Hills Volunteering, South Worcestershire Citizens Advice Bureau and Malvern Hills District Council.
Groups ranging from the Tenbury Transport Trust, the Dementia Society, the Royal British Legion and even the Guides attended.
Harriett commented: “I was keen to pay tribute to all the great volunteering groups which make such a difference in the community.
“Each of these groups does amazing work to help out locally and their selfless efforts are greatly appreciated.
“I hope that people who have a little spare time on their hands will have been motivated to offer their skills to one of these hard-working volunteer groups.”
