MP Harriett Baldwin has been briefed on plans for growth by the new chief executive at defence technology company QinetiQ.
Harriett met with chief executive Steve Wadey and was also shown a demonstration of a missile detection system which was used to protect troops in Afghanistan.
She was briefed on the company’s growth plans and latest initiatives to make the most of its company expertise in research and innovation.
The company employs nearly 800 people at its site in Malvern and appointed Steve to replace Leo Quin in April.
Harriett commented: “It was useful to meet with Steve and get an update on the company’s plans for growth.
“QinetiQ is one of the largest employers in my constituency and it is helpful to get an insight into how the company views its future.
“I was particularly impressed with the local management team’s initiatives to exploit the company’s innovation skills base and I welcome its efforts to integrate closer with the local community.
“I applaud the company’s desire to make the most of the brilliant brains of Malvern and I will be keeping a close eye on how QinetiQ evolves over the coming years.”
