West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin came face to face with Pudsey Bear during a drop in visit to BBC Hereford and Worcester’s Hylton Road HQ. Harriett was treated to a Pudsey Bear-hug after dropping off a donation as part of this year’s Children in Need appeal. Harriett said: “I am always happy to support charity events and the Children in Need appeal is an important and worthwhile fixture in the national diary. “I’ve seen some weird and wonderful fundraising activities over the years and it’s a pleasure to add my little donation to all the hundreds of thousands of pounds raised locally. “It was fun to meet with Pudsey and I am glad the day was a success for so many worthwhile causes. “It was also the 25th anniversary of the introduction of gift aid allowing charities to reclaim 25 pence of tax relief for every pound donated. Last year alone, this was worth an extra £1.2 billion to the UK charity sector and it’s a welcome additional boost for fundraisers, including all those donating to Children in Need.” Photo: BBC Children in Need’s Pudsey meets with Harriett Baldwin MP.
