West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin this week showed her support for small business by making a Christmas shopping trip to Tenbury Wells.
The MP dropped into a number of shops in Tenbury town centre to look for Christmas presents and chatted to retailers and shoppers.
The visit was part of a national initiative – Small Business Saturday – which aims to encourage people to shop local and use small retailers and traders for one weekend.
Harriett commented: “Many people know that I shop as often as I can in local stores across West Worcestershire and I encourage as many people as possible to do the same.
“Small business is the lifeblood of our economy – especially in West Worcestershire where we have seen so many business start-ups in recent years.
“Whilst Small Business Saturday is an important national initiative to help support smaller retailers who have to compete with multi-national giants, it is important to remember that these shops need our support all year round.
“I will be making more visits to nearby small retailers in the run up to Christmas and hope that local people will do the same.”
