West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin was quizzed about her work in Westminster by county primary school pupils during a school assembly Question Time. And the MP was also asked to present prizes to pupils when she visited Clifton-upon-Teme Primary school last week (Friday March 11). Harriett also met with school governors Chris Hurley and Tom Barnes and head teacher Cathy Throup to discuss proposals to change the national school funding formula. Harriett was also keen to pay tribute to the school’s governors and other people who volunteer their time to help keep local schools running smoothly. Harriett commented: “It is always a pleasure to visit such wonderful rural primary schools and even better to help to reward some of the successful pupils. “I always get a wide variety of interesting questions and it is pleasing to see how many children are interested about what I do in Parliament. “Rural schools like Clifton do a great job with limited resources and are greatly helped by the efforts of their governors who bring experience and direct help to ensure the smooth running of a school. “I took up the offer from the governors to come in and talk about funding challenges and to share some of the latest news from the Education Secretary.
