West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has offered her support to Lindridge Primary School whose pupils are facing delays getting to school following the collapse of the bridge at Eastham.
The minibus which reversed off the crumbling bridge was carrying Lindridge pupils and they now face a long detour to get to and from school.
Harriett toured the school with head teacher Julie Page and chairman of governors Bill Andrewes and discussed the challenges of running a rural primary school.
Harriett commented: “I was keen to come and visit Lindridge Primary School and offer my support to the pupils affected after the bridge collapse. Everyone was very relieved that no one was injured and I know that the county council is doing all it can to find long term solutions for students, commuters and local businesses.
“Lindridge is a good, popular school and Julie and her team clearly do a fine job giving local children the best possible start with very limited resources.
“It is clear that they face challenges trying to meet local demand for school places and I hope that when the new funding measures are announced, the school will be able to plan better for expansion.”
