Two Paralympic medal hopefuls got a cheer from West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin this week as they head out to Rio to compete in the Paralympic Games.
Vicky Jenkins, who lives in Malvern will be competing in para-archery and Clare Griffiths, who currently lives in Worcestershire, is part of the GB wheelchair basketball team.
Harriett offered her support to the two athletes and urged local people to get behind them and all the other competitors in the Rio Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Harriett commented: “We are proud of all the athletes who have travelled to Rio to go for gold.
“I hope that Vicky and Clare both have an amazing time and do us all proud as they compete for Team GB.
“I know that I will be looking out for them on the TV and hope that they bring medals back to Worcestershire and inspire our young people of all abilities to get involved in sport.”
