Harriett Baldwin calls on the PM to ensure that the global learning crisis is high on the agenda at this year’s Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting and encourage every leader in the Commonwealth to sign up to the Kenyatta declaration on education.

Speaking in a debate on global vaccine access, Harriett Baldwin highlights the motion unanimously agreed by the Inter-Parliamentary Union to work with national Governments to eliminate all export restrictions and trade barriers on covid-19 vaccines as we will not be safe until everyone in the world has been vaccinated.

Following the Government response to an Urgent Question on the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, Harriett Baldwin raises concerns about the concurrent learning crisis in the country and calls on the UK Government to ensure that teachers are getting paid so that schools can reopen.

Harriett Baldwin welcomes the support from the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs with regard to alcohol duty for smaller cider producers but seeks support for larger traditional makers of stronger ciders who may be adversely affected by the tax changes.
